My Poetry
'THE
CITY SLICKER'
They saddled me a great big horse
His eyes were wild
His coat was coarse
He knew I trembled in my boots
I knew he didn’t give two hoots!
I mounted him carefree enough
But he could sense it was just bluff
He knew I’d never sat so high
I knew that I was going to die!
We set off o’er the rugged range
I felt so funny
Felt so strange
He knew I was a city slicker
I knew for he was going quicker!
We rounded up three strays (or more)
And headed back
Boy ..... was I sore!
He knew my body ached with pain
I knew I’d never walk again!
The cowboys led him to the stable
I calmly said .....
(When I was able)
“I knew I’d have a great time guys!”
They knew that I was telling lies!
